NAMRIA, through its Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), joined the observance of this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). Through an office memorandum, the wearing of the office uniform was suspended on 26 October 2023. BCAM is an annual international health campaign celebrated during the month of October to support breast cancer awareness and research. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide with the Philippines having the greatest number of cases, ranking first, in Asia. This year's theme No one should face breast cancer alone serves as a reminder on the many ways to raise awareness about the prevention, detection, and treatment of breast cancer. The color pink, including the pink ribbon, identifies the wearer with the breast cancer brand. Wearing the color pink expresses moral support for women with breast cancer.
