NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD, led the recognition of the 2023 NAMRIA Sportsfest awardees, which was held live at the NAMRIA Lecture Hall in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on 21 June 2023. The victors were also featured in an audio-visual presentation shown during the agency's 36th anniversary on 30 June 2023.

Other key officials present during the awarding ceremony were Chief of Staff Ms. Rowena E. Bongalos, Mapping and Geodesy Branch (MGB) Director Ruel DM. Belen, Geospatial Information System Management Branch (GISMB) Director Febrina E. Damaso, Support Services Branch (SSB) Director Concepcion A. Bringas, and Resource Data Analysis Branch (RDAB) Assistant Director Violeta A. Quiliza.

The 2023 NAMRIA Sportsfest started off with team cheers at the NAMRIA Covered Court in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on 12 April 2023, and culminated on 04 May 2023. The six participating teams were: Support Services Branch and Administrator's Office (SSB-AO), MGB, Hydrography Branch (HB), HB survey vessels, RDAB, and GISMB.

The awarding ceremony named HB as the champion in men's table tennis and MGB in women's table tennis. SSB-AO dominated the sportsfest by winning most of the events, namely: women's and men's volleyball, basketball, darts, and chess, which led them to the title of 2023 NAMRIA Sportsfest Overall Champion.

In the individual awards category, the winners of Most Promising Player award were Angelica Thea O. Parayno and John Richard R. Bongalos for GISMB, Marites J. Nachor and Dexter K. Dag-uman for RDAB, Maria Jasmin M. Peralta and David M. Formento for MGB, Jeskie Jhone D. Ilagan for HB, and Annah Erania C. Masinas and Jacky J. Siaotong for SSB. Ralph E. Hallig of SSB was declared the Best Sports Commentator. The Mythical 5 was made up of Jayvee M. Dela Cruz from SSB, Dan Joseph L. Campaña from MGB, Lindon M. De Leon from HB, Ren Mark Bote of RDAB, Homer Paulo R. Macawili from GISMB.
