Trainings / Workshops | Nessil Marie B. Gonzalvo | 13 June 2024 | Print

To raise awareness of proper protocols and responses during bomb threat situations, the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) conducted orientations on Bomb Threat Management and Identification at the NAMRIA Lecture Hall on 30 May 2024. The sessions were facilitated by the members of the Makati Philippine National Police Bomb Squad led by Police Captain (PCPT) Enrique DC Fernandez.

Top and middle managers attended the morning session on Bomb Threat Management, where PCPT Fernandez highlighted the importance of threat assessment, situation management, and incident response. During this session, the attendees learned how to respond appropriately to a bomb threat and the essential safety precautions to take. PCPT Fernandez also stressed the importance of having a Bomb Threat Incident Plan that outlines the agency's bomb threat procedures.

PCPT Fernandez emphasized that bomb threats can take many forms, such as an unidentified package received or a suspicious object left in public areas. He also presented procedures to mitigate bomb threats in the workplace.

In conclusion, PCPT Fernandez underscored that "Security is everybody's concern," encouraging everyone to ensure safety in all situations.
