NAMRIA has once again proven its commitment in observing important public service milestones. This time, amidst an emergency health crisis, the agency kicked off its virtual celebration of the 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) celebration via Facebook streaming on 01 September 2020.

In line with this year’s theme Philippine Civil Service @120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation, NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD emphasized in his message the importance of improving communication, collaboration, and connection with people in these trying times.

He recounted how, for the last six months, the agency’s very own information system portal has played a huge part in supporting its operations. Activities and events such as employee engagement; learning and development; courses and trainings; and, recruitment, selection, and placement have gradually transitioned from physical to digital. The COVID Map App was produced, in collaboration with the Department of Health, to disseminate to the general public vital information related to the pandemic.

The Administrator concluded with a reminder to continue these good practices and embrace the human side of digital transformation: showing empathy, providing support mechanisms, managing change, fostering a learning culture, and empowering employees.

Also included in the program was a pre-recorded doxology by Ms. Rosalyn D. Sontillanosa and Mr. Aljerico A. Alcala, while the national anthem was sung by the NAMRIA Choir. The recitation of the Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas and of the Panunumpa ng Kawani ng Gobyerno was led by Deputy Administrators Jose C. Cabanayan, Jr. and Efren P.
