NAMRIA, under the leadership of Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD and through its Hydrography Branch (HB), partnered with different elementary and secondary schools for the conduct of the agency's Abot-Mapa activities. The campaign was launched during the celebration of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) in September 2022 and was conducted until December 2022.

NAMRIA's Abot-Mapa campaign was in line with NAMRIA's strategic plan to empower its stakeholders through information and education campaigns for the education sector. It aimed to promote the agency's mapping and charting activities, advocate the use of correct Philippine maps and charts in schools, provide teachers with instructional materials that they can use, and encourage students to take geomatics programs.

The NAMRIA hydrographic survey officers spearheaded the campaign, and visited at least one school per month. They were able to visit a total of 13 schools from different provinces from September to December 2022.

For each visit, the agency's hydrographic survey officers highlighted in their presentations the roles of NAMRIA and its mapmaking services. The Abot-Mapa campaign helped the teachers and students become more acquainted with the different kinds of maps and their respective functions. The students also learned about the extensive careers relating to geomatics that they may choose from in the future. The distribution of maps and nautical charts to each school's representatives was also part of the campaign.

Ltjg Angelica B Prado kicked off the Abot-Mapa activities by visiting six public elementary schools in Pangasinan on 15-16 September 2022. The schools she visited were Cabitnongan Elementary School, Calaocan Elementary School, Cacabugaoan Elementary School, Talingkapor Elementary School, Nining Elementary School, and San Eugenio Elementary School. She also visited Tangos National High School in Navotas City on 30 September 2022. Her visit was in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxilliary (PCGA).

Ltjg Renz B Vasquez visited the following schools in Laguna on 21 October 2022: Dita Elementary School, Pulong Sta. Cruz National High School, and Santa Rosa Science and Technology High School. On 28 November 2022, PEns Ciarely C Autor visited in Batangas the Holy Family Academy and Padre Garcia Integrated National High School.

NAMRIA's Abot-Mapa campaign was concluded by LCdr Lorena Jasmin D Lerio. She visited Gulod Malaya Elementary School in Rizal on 06 December 2022.
