Turnover of Command Ceremony held at NAMRIA Hydrography Branch

2019 is a year of significant changes in the organizational structure of the NAMRIA Hydrography Branch (HB).  CommanderAntonio G. Valenzuela, Jr. was designated as Officer in Charge (OIC) of the branch in line with the mandatory retirement of Commodore Jacinto M. Cablayan from government service.  A symbolic turnover or change of command ceremony was held at the NAMRIA HB Conference Room on 16 August 2019.

Administrator Tiangco addresses the outgoing and incoming HB directors in
his inspirational message.  He told outgoing HB DirectorCablayan that he will be
deeply missed by all the people he led and workedwith, and wished him good health, good luck,
and great success for the next chapter in his life.  He assured incoming HB OIC Director Valenzuela
of his trust and support in the latter’s assumption of the duties of his new role. -- VENER QUINTIN C. TAGUBA, JR. 
 
NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco presided over the ceremony where he turned over the HB Flag to incoming HB OIC Director Valenzuela. The acceptance of the flag symbolizes that the incoming OIC is formally assuming the duties of the position.  The occasion was attended by commissioned officers and enlisted personnel, HB staff, and officials and staff from other branches.
 
Outgoing HB DirectorCablayan delivers his speech where he thanked the Administrator
and other officials for the trust and the support extended him.  He mentioned that
after 36 years in the service he was proud to leave NAMRIA right after a successful
ISO audit at the HB and that he was turning over the  responsibilities and
challenges to incoming  HB OIC  Director Valenzuela.

Incoming HB OIC Director Valenzuela said in his speech that he is known as a man of few words and that
“ang katahimikan ko ay pupunuan ko sa gawa” and “kakayanin ko ito kung tutulungan ninyo
ako” (my quiet demeanor shall be supplemented by hard work and I can only do this

Former NAMRIA Support Services Branch (SSB) Director, also a former HB officer, Engr. Enrique A. Macaspac along with former Director Romeo I. Ho, former Assistant Directors Herbert L. Catapang and Rosalino C. delos Reyes, and other former HB officers like Eduardo R. Campaña,  Victoriano C. Buquer, Sheilon T. Cadaoas, and Reynaldo R. Adorador graced the event.
