NAMRIA runners join R4R

Eighteen(18) runners from NAMRIA joined the “R4R: Run for Resilience” held at the Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City on 01 July 2018. The event was held in observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) with the theme, “KATATAGAN SA KALAMIDAD ay Makakamtan Kapag Sapat ang Kaalaman sa Kahandaan.”  The observance of the NDRM aims to build disaster resilience in the country. The event was organized by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) of the Office of Civil Defense.

The NAMRIA runners were Director Ruel DM. Belen, Willie Q. Puquiz, Marieta M. Perez de Tagle, Ramina DC. Belen, and Lailah B. Gealone of Mapping and Geodesy Branch (MGB); Capt. Sheilon T. Cadaoas of Hydrography Branch; Geospatial Integration Division Chief Violeta A. Quiliza, Decem Caesar F. Gacho, and Richard A. Lugod of Resource Data Analysis Branch; Lady P. Smith, Gloria D. Resurreccion, and Ms. Aileen H. Argente of Geospatial Information System Management Branch (GISMB); and Lorelei E. Peralta, Reychelle J. Decano, Loreto G. Gealone, Leo Q. Puquiz, John Richard R. Bongalos, and Aurenette D. Ragay of Support Services Branch.
NAMRIA participated in the five-kilometer race and the three-kilometer fun run. Over a thousand runners from the NDRRMC member agencies, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, and NAMRIA participated in the event.

Meanwhile, Ms. Argente of the Geospatial Database Management Division of GISMB won first place in the 40 years old and above female category, topping other runners from the military with a time of 32 minutes in the five-kilometer race.
