Despite the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, NAMRIA, through its Bayanihan Bayan Desk (BBD), managed to participate in and contribute to the activities of the Brigada Eskwela  (BE) of the Department of Education (DepEd) for the school year 2020-2021. NAMRIA handed over its donations consisting of boxes of bond papers and hygiene products to Balacat Elementary School (BES) and Lomboy Elementary School (LES), both located in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. The turnover of donations was held at the school grounds of BES on 04 November 2020. The NAMRIA BBD was represented by SN3 Anjanette V. Alabas of the Hydrography Branch.

BES was represented by its BE Coordinator, Mr. Jonathan G. Paulo, while LES was represented by Mr. Edison D. Rabac. Both representatives acknowledged NAMRIA’s generosity and vowed to put the donations into good use, especially the bond papers which they said will be used in the production of learning modules.

The donations were made possible through the efforts of NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD; Chief-of-Staff Rowena E. Bongalos; BBD Focal Person Jeffrey A. Quodala; and generous friends of BBD.

With the theme Pagpapanatili ng Bayanihan Tungo sa Kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Kabataan, this year’s BE activities focused on the preparations and strengthening of partnership engagements to ensure that learning continues despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.
