NAMRIA honors its lingkod bayani in 120th PCSA virtual culminating activity

A special tribute to its 147 employees was the highlight of NAMRIA’s culminating activity for the 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA). The agency conducted through Facebook livestreaming its Rewards and Recognition Awarding Ceremony on 30 September 2020. Of the awardees, 12 retired employees were Service Awardees, while 135 Loyalty Awardees were those who continuously and satisfactorily served the agency for certain milestone years. The milestone years of service are as follows: 40 years for 11 employees; 35 years for 24 employees; 30 years for 30 employees; 25 years for 11 employees; 20 years for 26 employees; 15 years for 21 employees; and 10 years for 12 employees. The Service Awardees received plaques and cash incentives while all Loyalty Awardees were given tokens of appreciation corresponding to the years of service they rendered.
 
In his inspirational message, NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD expressed the hope that everyone would learn the true meaning of lingkod bayani. He said that as public servants, "we must take every opportunity to improve ourselves, to work diligently, to show kindness and compassion, and to love fully."
 
In his welcome remarks, Hydrography Branch Officer in Charge (OIC)-Director, Cdr. Antonio G. Valenzuela, Jr., who chairs the NAMRIA Program on Rewards, Awards, and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee, expressed his gratitude to NAMRIA Administrator Tiangco for his overwhelming support to all the committee’s endeavors and to all who made the awarding ceremony possible.

The PCSA virtual culminating activity also featured the following: Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Jose Luis B. Ricafort, CHS; Panalangin and the National Anthem led by the NAMRIA Choir; screening of five entries to the Virtual Spoken Poetry Contest; and showing of 24 entries to the Online Photo Story Contest.

NAMRIA Administrator Tiangco, Deputy Administrators Jose C. Cabanayan, Jr. and Efren P. Carandang, Chief of Staff Rowena E. Bongalos, the branch directors, and selected employees participated in the community singing, led by the NAMRIA Choir, of We Heal As One. The song is a remake of the anthem of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), which was composed by National Artist for Music Maestro Ryan Cayabyab with lyrics by Palanca award-winning writer Floy Quintos. NAMRIA's virtual PCSA closing event was organized and conducted by the Support Services Branch (SSB) with the assistance of the Geospatial Information System Management Branch (GISMB). The event was hosted by Catherine T. Yacub of the Human Resource Management Section-Administrative Division, SSB. Jeffrey M. Aguillon of GISMB spearheaded the technical work for the live streaming of the event.
