News & Event(s) | Joseph Estrella | 22 November 2017 | Print

Officials and staff of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) spearheaded a forum on Climate Change. A team headed by Staff Support Services Branch Director Febrina E. Damaso conducted a forum on climate change and disaster resiliency with barangay officials and residents of Barangay Pinagsama Village Phase 2, Taguig City on 18 November 2017. The event is in line with the celebration of the Climate Change Consciousness Week on 19-24 November 2017, pursuant to Proclamation No. 1667, series of 2008. The celebration with this year’s theme, “Linking Science, Policy and Practice for Climate Change and Disaster Resilience” aims to create awareness on global warming and climate change. To support this objective, intensive information, education, and communication campaigns with the public were conducted through different activities such as fora, clean-up drives, tree/mangrove planting activities, and others. The campaigns were held in climate/disaster-vulnerable communities throughout the nation by the different bureaus and attached agencies of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) on the said date.

He said, “We always welcome lahat ng mga libre na pupunta dito sa barangay namin para di mabinbin yun aming serbisyo sa publiko”. He also added, “Now mas maganda siguro na at least mayroon tayo dito mga kaibigan from the NAMRIA and you as stakeholders of this barangay na magkaroon tayo ng mga ganitong klase ng events na libre. Wala na tayong ginastos may matututunan pa tayo.”
