NAMRIA joined the Visayas leg of the Kabisig Philippine Government Expo and Trade Fair at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on 17-19 October 2017. NAMRIA had previously participated in the Mindanao leg of the said event in Davao last April 2017.

The Kabisig expo and trade fair is a one-stop information exhibit that features government agencies and instrumentalities. It aims to spread information about the accomplishments, on-going projects, and future endeavors of government institutions.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte previously issued Memorandum Circular No. 9, series of 2017 to encourage government agencies, instrumentalities, GOCCs, and LGUs to support and participate in the Kabisig Government Expo and Trade Fair 2017.

The NAMRIA exhibit booth was staffed by Geospatial Information Services Division (GISD) personnel Rolando A. Mendoza, Vener Quintin C. Taguba Jr., and Philip G. Serazon. The booth showcased different products and services offered by NAMRIA and highlighted its accomplishments such as the Philippine Geoportal, and the successful defense of our claim to the Philippine Rise (formerly Benham Rise) to be part of our Extended Continental Shelf (ECS) to the United Nations Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf.
