Workshop participants demarcated the FMAs during the workshop proper. The resulting proposed FMAs in Mindanao waters will be used by BFAR in establishing the FMAs for the whole country.

The workshop in Davao is the second in the series of workshops conducted by BFAR for the demarcation of fishery management areas. The first workshop was held in Cebu City last 2016.

The workshops are part of the joint project of NAMRIA and BFAR on the demarcation of FMAs. The special project is expected to produce nautical charts that show the FMAs approved by BFAR.
