Hydrography Branch distributes charts and maps to key Philippine libraries

The Hydrography Branch distributed nautical charts and maps to The National Library, Armed Forces of the Philippines Main Library, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Legal Department Library in July to August 2017. The activity was done as part of the World Hydrography Day celebration.
 
LCdr Luma-ang  distributes maps to National Library
LCdr Luma-ang presents NAMRIA’s charts and maps to National Library Director Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano.
 
The distribution, which was led by LCdr Carter S Luma-ang, aims to provide the libraries with updated charts and maps. It also aims to foster linkages with the academe and the library services of various government institutions. 
 
Hydrography Branch distributes maps to National Library
LCdr Luma-ang turns over a copy of the Bajo de Masinloc to the National Library.
 
Some of the maps that were provided included the nautical chart of the Philippines’ Extended Continental Shelf that bears the name “Philippine Rise,” which was previously known as the Benham Rise. The libraries also received copies of Bajo de Masinloc, which is NAMRIA’s publication about the Scarborough Shoal.
