Engineering Graduates Take the Competitive Exam for Probationary Ensigns

One hundred twenty-nine graduates of various engineering courses took the competitive exam for probationary ensign last Sunday, September 25, in the cities of Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Manila has the most number of examinees at 111, followed by Davao with 12 examinees, and Cebu with 6 examinees.

Most of the examinees are graduates of Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Geodetic Engineering courses.
 
The probationary ensign-hopefuls tested their mettle in answering Mathematics problems in the morning and English questions in the afternoon. Examinees must obtain a passing grade of at least 70% both in the Mathematics and English Tests in order to qualify for the Psychological Test, Competency Based Interview, and physical and medical examinations.
 
Those who passed the competitive examination will be appointed as ensigns by the President of the Republic of the Philippines after six months of very satisfactory service.
